Pachysandra Ground Cover

Ajuga repens ‘Bronze Beauty’ – A  beautiful landscape plant with metallic bronze foliage.  Flowers are a blue to violet.  Good as a border plant or used as a ground cover.  Mature height 3” – 4”.

Ajuga repens ‘Burgundy Glow’ – Variegated foliage of creamy white, green and burgundy creating a vivid color effect.  Blue flowers.  Mature height 3” – 4”.

Asiatic Jasmine – Long thin vines with oval shaped leaves running along the ground to make a beautiful addition to any rock garden or a ground cover.

Euonymous fortunei ‘Colorata’  (Winter Creeper) – Green foliage turns purplish in late fall. A hardy ground cover with dense spreading habit.

Hedera helix (English Ivy ) – A beautiful trailing ground cover which thrives in most soil conditions, requiring little attention.

Hypericum calcyminum ‘Aaron’s Beard’

 Dwarf evergreen spreading by runners with narrow ovate, dark green leaves to 4” long.  Saucer-shaped, bright yellow flowers to 4” across appear mid-summer to mid-autumn.

Lamiastrum ‘Archangel’ – A ground cover that has spikes with whorls of yellow flowers.  Plants are spread by stolons.  Heavy to partial shade.   Nice plant to fill in heavily shaded area where nothing else will grow.

Liriope muscari ‘Big Blue’  

Dark evergreen upright foliage forming a thick mass plant making it an ideal specimen for erosion control.  Flowers are a showy, lavender, followed by black berries.

Liriope muscari ‘Variegata’

Foliage is  lime green and white, spreading by underground stolons.  Flowers are a light lavender.  It is good as a border plant or ground cover. 

Liriope muscari ‘Spicata’  

An evergreen ground cover with dark foliage and light lavender flowers.  This is a good edging for paths or borders.

Ophiopogon japonicus ‘Mondo’  

These thin leaves are grass-like with small white flowers appearing from June-July.  The plants spread by stolons.  It prefers shade to partial sun,

Ophiopogon japonicus ‘nana’ Mondo ‘Dwarf  

The dark green foliage on this plant grows from  2-3”.  It prefers shade and good organic soil.

Pachysandra  

Lustrous green leaves makes this one of the best rapid growing ground covers.  It is ideal for shady situations.  It thrives under dry conditions.  It grows 4” tall with an 8” spread.

Vinca Major  

Evergreen, trailing subshrub with arching shoots to lance-shaped, dark green leaves to 3 1/2” long.  Blue-violet, or dark violet flowers to 2” across appear mid-spring to autumn.

Vinca Minor

Dark green foliage with striking lavender-blue flowers, sometimes pale blue, reddish purple, or white flowers.  It is an attractive trailing evergreen with stems that root as the nodes touch the soil.  Shear to encourage new growth.
